The City of Armadale acknowledge the Traditional Owners and the Custodians of the land upon which we stand, work and play.
We acknowledge Aboriginal people as the First Peoples of this land and their connection to the lands and the waters, as they are part of them spiritually and culturally.
We acknowledge their ancestors, the Elders past and present, who have led the way for us to follow.

Journey to the past and unlock the secrets of Western Australia’s ghost towns.
Vast distances, a boom-and-bust nature, and the unforgiving climate of Western Australia has left us with many places that were once teeming with life, now abandoned to the ravages of time.
What remains may be nothing more than a crumbled structure or the grid pattern of a few streets, the rest of the town reclaimed by the bush.
Christine Harris from Family History WA will share the history of these towns and detail The People of Western Australia’s Ghost Towns Project, which aims to ensure that these places and the people that once resided there will not be forgotten.
