The City of Armadale acknowledge the Traditional Owners and the Custodians of the land upon which we stand, work and play.
We acknowledge Aboriginal people as the First Peoples of this land and their connection to the lands and the waters, as they are part of them spiritually and culturally.
We acknowledge their ancestors, the Elders past and present, who have led the way for us to follow.
Learn to sing a cappella with The Baden Street Singers!
In this catered, full-day workshop, secondary school-aged kids from across the City of Armadale are welcomed to join the highly decorated Western Australian chorus to experience what it's like to sing in a choir.
Over the course of the day, students will learn two amazing a cappella arrangements, including a special commission just for this event. Covering skills such as breath support, creating connected sound and vocal placement, this workshop will serve as both an excellent introduction to choral singing for beginners and a great development opportunity for those already involved in music.
The workshop is open to all experience levels, though kids who can read music or sing may gain more from the session. All music for the event will be made available at the workshop, and a catered lunch will also be provided for all participants.
Showcase commencing at 2.30pm!
At the end of the day everyone who has taken part in the workshop will have the opportunity to perform what they have learned to family and friends.
Choral singing has been shown to provide a range of benefits including improving social connections, reducing stress and enhancing cognitive function, and The Baden Street Singers are excited to share this experience and these benefits with young people in the City of Armadale.
This event is proudly supported by the City of Armadale.
For catering purposes, bookings close 11 April 2025.
