City of Armadale Logo

The City of Armadale acknowledge the Traditional Owners and the Custodians of the land upon which we stand, work and play.

We acknowledge Aboriginal people as the First Peoples of this land and their connection to the lands and the waters, as they are part of them spiritually and culturally.

We acknowledge their ancestors, the Elders past and present, who have led the way for us to follow.

Visible Mending Workshop

Unleash your creativity while reducing the amount of clothing going to landfill! ♻️

Whether you’re new to stitching or a more experienced stitcher, this mending artform will have you hooked!

In this interactive session, your experienced teacher will guide you through visible mending techniques, which you can apply to your textiles or garments that require mending.

Included :

  • All workshop materials (including Sashiko needle and thread)

  • Visible mending notes
  • Ideas and inspiration from not only your facilitator Elise, but from the people sitting in the room with you - you’ll find this part invaluable!

What to bring:

  • Garments (jeans, shirts, jumpers, cardigans, socks) or home textiles (tea towel or tablecloth) that have rips or holes that need repairing.
  • Embellishments (buttons, patches, fabrics etc) that are meaningful to you - not a requirement.
  • Your imagination and enthusiasm!

Note: light refreshments available, but please bring your refillable water bottle with you.
