Did you know that Australia’s 1,717 public libraries had nearly 88 million visitors last year?
Those visitors borrowed 174 million items, both physical and digital!
This means that on average every single person in Australia borrowed 6.5 items!
Were you one of them? How many items did you borrow?
Our four amazing libraries in the City of Armadale contributed strongly to these figures:
Our libraries were open for nearly 10,500 hours last year
359,528 visits were made to our libraries
554,231 items were borrowed in person or online. This includes books, DVDs, audiobooks, streaming video and dozens of other formats.
We held 1,066 programs and events, from craft workshops to author talks, and of course our incredibly popular children’s programs.
But these figures only tell part of the story. What makes our libraries even more special? The people who use them – YOU!
We love hearing stories from our community about what they’ve discovered and learned when using their local library.
We also love hearing how we can keep being awesome for our communities, creating the programs and services you want, and making sure we have the resources and technology you need.
Whether you’re a regular user or only pop in once or twice a year, we want to hear from you as part of a state-wide survey on public libraries.
Help shape the library you want to be involved with.
Complete this 10 minute survey by 30 November:
The Public Library Performance Framework Survey is conducted by the State Library of Western Australia on behalf of the Public Libraries Working Group with research support from Action Market Research.
