Architectural Gems has categories for both street level and drone photography, and is open to amateur photographers aged 18 and older, who are Australian residents.
Mayor Ruth Butterfield said: “Our annual local history photographic competition, hosted by Birtwistle Local Studies Library, offers amateur photographers a chance to showcase their skills. The competition’s aim is to capture the present-day historical reality, for viewing by future generations.
“We are looking for present-day photographs or drone images that show aspects of the City’s history through its buildings and their surrounds, both past and present.”
The Open Theme - Historical Pre-2000 Category asks for scans of photographs more than 25 years old that show any aspect of how life was in our district over the past decades. Open your old photo albums and show us what life here was like pre-2000.
The prizes for each category are:
1st Prize: $300 and a professional print of image
2nd Prize: $200 and a professional print of image
3rd Prize: $100 and a professional print of image.
Entries close on Monday 31 March 2025.
