Roley Pools is a very special place. The silence and the natural beauty.
I have lived in the area for 55 years.
How are you involved in the community?
I have volunteered since 1975 as Father Christmas until 2024 for the City of Armadale, volunteer Bush Fire Brigade and local Breast Cancer Group, amongst others. More recently I volunteer at the Perth Hills Armadale Visitor Centre as a guide through the Bert Tyler Vintage Machinery Museum and Telegraph Station, sharing some of the rich history of the district.
What is your favourite thing to do on the weekends in Armadale and surrounding areas?
I love to wander around our local bush areas and enjoy the wildlife. In Armadale we are so lucky to have nature so close around us with a relaxing mix of urban and rural areas.
Any hidden gems or favourite places you would recommend?
Roley Pools is a very special place. The silence and the natural beauty. It also has some amazing history as a hiding place for Moondyne Joe, the region’s most notorious bush ranger.
