Im a local Seville Grove resident who has lived in the city of Armadale for over 35 years. Ive had several homes in different parts of the community, my schooling, my first job (and others) were all local too.
I love this place and the people who live and work here.
The personal service at the local bakery, butcher or fruit and veg store. The cafe, restaurant and corner store owners and staff who already know my order. The place I get my hair cut.
I've seen our community grow, mature and become a diverse and exciting place to live. I've also seen parts left behind.
Our older suburbs and town centres need rejuvenating, especially Kelmscott.
Pedestrians and bikers need better facilities.
Our council needs people who listen, are forward looking and ready to act on our community needs and values.
I grew up here and choose to keep living here. I'm invested in our community.
You can expect a high level of integrity, ethics and pragmatic decision making from me. Im a team player who gets the job done and will work hard to make our community safe and enjoyable for all.
If elected as your councillor, I will work to:
rejuvenate our old town centres and suburbs build a sense of community and make our community a safer place for all improve the quality of public engagement in council decision making processes ensure council spending is responsible and priorities are in-line with community needs increase the number of accessible play spaces, dog parks and local amenities for all improve experiences for pedestrians, bike riders and public transport users, including more safe and shaded places to stop, rest, rejuvenate reduce heat risk across the community, especially at public events and in public spaces reduce light pollution to bring star-filled nights back to our suburbs improve air quality in public spaces protect our remaining bushland and locally native flora and fauna
My name is Mark Geary, I am running for the Hills and I encourage you to join me.
There are a few reasons why I believe I can serve our community best and why I am asking for you to vote 1 Mark Geary.
You may prefer to have nothing to do with the City of Armadale, but it's likely that eventually you may need a decision from them or have an interaction with the City staff, and there is little chance you wouldn't be using the many services provided (even if it is just roads and rubbish!). I know that not everyone can be happy all the time, it might not be that everyone will always get exactly what they want. But there can be consideration, understanding and acceptance, through strong advocacy from me, and through listening and openly communicating with and from the City and Council. I won't promise every interaction will be amazing, but I can promise to make sure we have the policies and practices in place to suit our needs and behaviours.
I'll speak for you when needed, and I'll be honest with you. If it's important and matters to you, I can be passionate for you, I can speak clearly and debate in good faith for you, simply because it matters.
Urban fringes such as ours have met a heavy burden and cost of urban expansion. We used to surround ourselves with trees and vegetation, food production and manufacturing land. But as that expansion marches on these things are slowly being eroded. I want to do my bit to slow down the march of time, to celebrate local businesses and to sensibly develop and protect our environment.
I believe we can have it all. I'm not a daydreamer, I believe my passion and enthusiasm will help to keep on that course, to improve where needed, but also to maintain the status quo where your lives are not affected.
If you have read this far you must care and have a keen interest. Please reach out to me, share your thoughts, invite me to meet up, and feel free to find out more about me.
For these many reasons I ask for your vote.
In the Community, With the Community & For the Community
I am always telling my children that you shouldn't complain about an issue unless you want to be part of the solution. So now, as a candidate to remain your Councillor, I want to continue to help find solutions for our beautiful Hills Ward.
In trying to influence change from within, below are just some of the things that I know are important to our amazing Hills community, because they are also important to me & my family:
Genuinely listen to, & advocate for, the things that really matter to the residents of the Hills Ward Do more for the fabulous community groups & volunteers we have in the Hills Sensible bushfire management & prevention Responsible & reasoned progress that maintains the Hills lifestyle & amenity we all love Supporting our amazing Orchardists Supporting our sporting organisations & clubs Improved Green Waste management Preserving & increasing our beautiful tree canopy Better footpaths, roads & facilities in the Hills Supporting our wonderful local businesses Promoting existing & encouraging new cultural, community & tourism events & activities
Roleystone & Bedfordale have given our family so much, we have been welcomed with open arms from the moment we arrived 15 years ago. I want to continue to give something back to this incredible community. I bring 30 years of leadership in IT, the last 10 years in the Finance Sector. More importantly, I bring 40 years of passionate volunteering. These roles have equipped me with the skills & sense of community which I've carried into my four years as your councillor.
These skills were recognised by my fellow Councillors & I was made Deputy Chair of the Planning Committee in my first 2 years & then Chair of the Finance Committee which I still have the honour to hold. I humbly ask for your support in the elections & look forward to working with you to deliver the best outcomes for the Hills Ward.
Hello, my name is Veronica Hansen, I am nominating for Councillor represent our Hill Ward in the City of Armadale.
A resident of Roleystone for 16 years, I have actively been involved with local community groups, including Men's shed (now Waterwheel) , Roleystone Markets, Bedfordale CWA Carers WA Armadale support group.
Last May, along with many other amazing volunteers, I was honoured to receive a "Humans of Armadale 2025" award for individuals who have made a significant contribution to their community volunteering within the City Armadale.
I understand the importance of communication, but most importantly how to listen! I believe I have the skills to effectively serve the Hills Wards residents well. Now semi-retired I have time to commit to the role of Councillor to achieve positive outcomes for our community and I would appreciate your vote in the upcoming October Election.

Lake Ward: A Better Tomorrow for PiaraWaters Your Voice. Your Wellbeing. My Commitment.
The residents of Piara Waters deserve to see their rates invested directly into the well-being of our growing community. My mission would be to become your strong voice on the City of Armadale council. I will do my best to present your ambitions, aspirations, and concerns to the council and ensure they are addressed through my hard work & dedication. I will not make any deceiving promises but rather work hard and tirelessly to make Piarwaters a better place to live and thrive. Here is my plan, organised into three core pillars that address the issues our community has been raising Pillar 1: Improving Our Public Spaces I will champion the revitalisation of our parks and public spaces to ensure they are a source of pride for everyone. * Playgrounds: Upgrading existing playgrounds with new, multi-age-appropriate equipment. * Amenities: Installing essential facilities like public toilets, shaded seating areas, and more bins. * Water Taps: Providing dedicated water taps for both children and pets in our most-used parks. * Park Lighting: Pushing for more lighting in parks and sitting areas to improve safety and extended use.
Pillar 2: Enhancing Safety and Cleanliness A safe and clean environment is the foundation of a healthy community. I am committed to a proactive approach to security and infrastructure. * Community Safety: Working with local police to install more security cameras, more child crossings and promoting a strong Neighbourhood Watch program. * Road Maintenance: Demanding regular sweeping and cleaning of our roads and clearing roadside drains to prevent waterlogging. * Street Lighting: Advocating for more lighting on all streets and in open areas to improve visibility and safety. Pillar 3: Investing in Recreation Our community deserves more opportunities to stay active and engaged. My focus will be on enhancing sports and pet facilities to meet the needs o
Re-Elect Sam Singh Virk City of Armadale Councillor Lake Ward Serving our community since 2021 | A trusted voice for Piara Waters, Harrisdale, and Forrestdale --- A Proven Record. A Strong Voice. A Local Who Cares. My name is Sam Singh Virk, and I am deeply honoured to have served as your local Councillor in Lake Ward for the past four years. As a proud resident of Harrisdale for the past 16 years and a father of two young children, I understand the challenges, dreams, and aspirations of our growing families and vibrant multicultural community. My passion to serve this community has always been driven by a simple goal: to make Lake Ward safer, stronger, greener, and better for every resident. Over the past term, I have worked hard to deliver real outcomes and infrastructure that meet the needs of our rapidly growing suburbsPiara Waters, Forrestdale, and Harrisdale. From upgrading local parks to securing millions in community funding, I have focused on actions that matter and projects that make a difference in your daily lives.
Hi, I'm Daniel, a lifelong resident of Piara Waters, Thornlie, and Gosnells, where along with my wife, we've raised our two children.
I've seen our area transform from a dimly lit Nicholson Road with barely a dual lane to the suburbs we now call home. While great progress has been made, I know many of us feel a bit let down by recent years, and I want to change that by listening to you, the residents of Lake Ward.
As the City of Armadale implements its Strategic and Community Plans, Ill work to ensure projects serve us for the long term, foster collaboration with neighbouring councils to reduce waste, and make sure Lake Ward is never left behind.
I know were all feeling a bit of election fatigue this year, but now is the time to shape our future together. I want to hear what matters most to you - whether its safer streets, better roads, or more community events - so we can make Lake Ward a place where everyone thrives.
A vote for me is a vote for common sense, transparency and pragmatism. I wont take your support for granted. Lets work together to make Armadale an even greater place to live!
Thank you for trusting me to represent you.
Elected unopposed – an election for this Ward will not be required.
Together with my wife and two children, we chose Armadale as our home because we saw it as a growing, family-friendly community built on shared values. As a family, we actively participate in local sporting and recreational activities, which has shown us firsthand the urgent need for more funding for mental health and recreation facilities.
I also volunteer with our local seniors club, where I gain valuable insight into the experiences and aspirations of older residents who helped build the community we enjoy today.
*Why I am nominating for Councillor*
As a resident, I have long advocated for better facilities, but progress has often been slower than our community needs. I realised that raising issues alone is not enough, now is the time to step forward and work toward real solutions.
With qualifications in both Technology (B.Tech) and Business (MBA), I bring practical problem-solving skills and strategic thinking. Local councils are the closest form of government to the people, and I believe it is their responsibility to create safer environments and support community wellbeing.
Many of you who know me understand that I focus less on making promises and more on delivering practical outcomes.
*If elected*
I will work with fellow councillors to deliver on the goals that matter most to our residents, including: * More police presence and well-lit streets to reduce antisocial behaviour. * Safer streets with additional security cameras. * Safer roads through better signage and traffic management. * Greater household security rebates. * Cleaner drains and creeks to reduce waterlogging. * Better childrens play equipment and more recreation spaces. * Long-awaited footpaths for streets that need them.
I am thorough, approachable, and hands-on always available to listen and act for the people of Armadale.
A lot of you will know me from my work as a local , active, JP. I have served our community, behind the scenes, for decades, from Neighbourhood Watch to being out at ludicrous-o-clock on Saturday mornings with the salt of the earth folks of the Graffiti Removal Team, cleaning up our streets. When I was originally elected, it was on a platform of tackling some of the antisocial behaviours that were plaguing our quality of life; at the time it was unregistered dirtbikes chewing up our parks and streets, and I was a constant advocate, making myself heard on behalf of my community until resources were allocated, and the issue was dealt with. There are challenges to overcome once more, and I'll advocate until we can all live in peace, and safety. A friend of mine once had a phrase 'You talk, I listen', and I've dedicated myself to that ethos through all of my public life. Leadership isn't about sitting behind a Council desk and going with the flow, it's about service, and knowing your community. I'm there for you, and will always listen to what you think should be done to improve things. I won't promise to agree with everything, but I'll always take you seriously, and work with you to get whatever solutions we can. I often took a stance on Council that was in the minority, not to be contrary, but to fight for what was right, not simply what was expedient or easy. If you honour me with your vote, and I'm successful in my bid to serve again, I can promise to take the right path, the path that benefits our community, not just the path of least resistance. I'm always up for standing alone, if it's the right thing to do, because at the end of the day, if your elected Councillors are not serving you, and looking after Palomino, and the great people of Seville Grove and Champion Lakes, who will?
My wife of 26 years, our three adult daughters and I are proud to call Armadale home. We know its challenges, but more importantly, we believe in its opportunities. I bring over 20 years of leadership in the Not-for-Profit sector - currently as National Community Services Manager at The Fathering Project, formerly as General Manager of Girl Guides WA, and more than a decade with The Salvation Army right here in Armadale. These roles have shaped my passion, commitment to the community which I've carried into my four years as your councillor. With strong expertise in community development, people services, finance and governance, it has been an honour to use these skills as I represent you. Service is at the heart of who I am - whether working in the NFP sector, volunteering as Treasurer at my daughters netball club or supporting our first responders in times of disaster with The Salvation Army Emergency Services. That same commitment runs in our family: one daughter is a Primary School teacher and Volunteer Bush Firefighter, another works locally while completing her university degree, and another serves as a WA Police Officer. On Council, I've been privileged to contribute previously through the Development & Corporate Services Committees, and currently the Technical Services Committee, Community Services Committee (Deputy Chair), Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group (Chair), Community & Wellbeing Committee (Chair), Homelessness Working Group (Chair), Audit and Risk Committee (Deputy Chair), Highland Gathering Working Group and the CEO Review Panel. My focus is simple: to champion Armadale's strengths while ensuring your ideas, concerns and aspirations guide our decisions. Together, we can continue to build a safer, stronger, and more vibrant community. I ask for your support in the October elections - and look forward to working with you to deliver the best outcomes for Armadale!
Im a proud Harrisdale resident, husband, and father of two incredible children. My family and I moved here 7 years ago, drawn by the great community vibe. But over time, Ive seen our suburb neglected and downgraded roads more congested, parks overlooked, and a clear lack of care for residents.
Thats why Ive decided to step in. Enough is enough our community deserves better. Im standing for Council to be a strong local voice who will fight for the services and respect our families deserve.
My Top Priorities for Harrisdale
Transparent Budgeting & Fair Rates spending your money wisely, with rates aligned to CPI and reinvested into our community
Youth Engagement creating opportunities, safe spaces, and positive programs for our young people
Support Local Business backing small businesses to keep jobs and investment in our area
Smarter Parking & Transport Solutions tackling congestion, especially around schools, with practical and fair policies
Improved School Traffic Management safer drop-off and pick-up zones, smoother traffic flow, and better facilities near schools
Better Infrastructure & Security upgraded roads and footpaths, smart lighting, and CCTV at known black spots to keep families safe
Why Im Standing
Im not a career politician Im a local dad whos tired of seeing our community ignored. Harrisdale deserves safer streets, fairer rates, and real investment in the facilities we use every day.
Together, we can bring accountability, respect, and positive change back to our council.
Vote for Vikram Sabale A Local Who Cares.
