Immunisations protect people from specific infectious disease and its immediate complications by using the body’s natural defence mechanism. Immunisation is a simple, safe and effective way of controlling the spread of infectious diseases.
Immunisations can be obtained at free local clinics which allow walk-ins, however bookings are required in advance at most clinics. Additional providers of immunisations include, General Practitioners, Community Health Services and Aboriginal Health Services.

Influenza affects people of all ages, it is a contagious respiratory illness that infect the nose, throat, and sometimes the lungs. Young children, older adults, pregnant woman and people with chronic disease or weak immune systems are at high risk. The best way to prevent flu is a flu vaccine each year.
