School Parking

Find out about parking around schools and how to keep children safe

Unlawful parking in school areas is a major safety hazard that poses a risk to children, pedestrians and other road users. It is the driver’s responsibility to park their car legally and to help easy parking issues while keeping school students safe.

In an effort to provide a safer environment for everyone, authorised Officers from the City of Armadale patrol school parking in the mornings and afternoons throughout the school term. Unlawful parking in school areas is a major safety hazard and parking infringement notices may be issued for incorrect, unlawful or dangerous parking.

Set Down and Pick Up Zones (Kiss and Drive)

Pick Up and Set Down Areas (if provided) are designed to allow drivers a short length of time to pick up and set down children. Typically they are located adjacent to the main school entrance. When using the designated pick up and set down areas around schools, vehicles should never be left unattended.
