The Free Native Plants initiative run by the City of Armadale offers an array of plants to help the community to create a greener and more sustainable Armadale.
The City of Armadale invites you to participate in the Native Plants for Residents Program, offering free native and waterwise plants to help transform your backyard and verges into thriving, natural habitats. This initiative is designed to enhance our urban canopy, support local biodiversity, and create greener, cooler spaces throughout our city.

Residents can choose from one of the following plant packs:
Darling Scarp Pack
A selection of water-wise plants specifically chosen for properties on clay soils. These plants are adapted to thrive in the unique conditions of the Darling Scarp region.
Verge Pack
A collection of water-wise plants ideal for creating beautiful and sustainable green verges. These plants require less water, making them perfect for the local environment.
Bushtucker Pack
A mix of native Australian plants, which will help your garden both look and taste great!
Pollinator Pack
A collection of small, colourful flowers designed to attract and support small pollinators like native bees and butterflies.
Frog Pond Pack
A plant pack to support the creation of a small pond/habitat for all our frog friends.
Trees & Shrubs Pack Keep cool and create shady spaces in your yard with these carefully selected Waterwise trees and shrubs (all >1.5m).
Please note that species are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances at the nurseries, which are out of our control.
Eligibility: To be eligible for this subsidy, you must be a resident of the City of Armadale, or a school located within the City.
One Plant Pack per Household: Each household is eligible to receive one plant pack (containing 10 plants).
Pre-registration Required: As this is a ticketed event, pre-registration is necessary to secure your plant pack.
Proof of residency must be provided upon collection of your plants.
This initiative is proudly co-funded by Water Corporation's Waterwise Greening Scheme and forms part of our ambition for Armadale to be a leading waterwise city (or community)
