Honeyeater House

Project Details

Early in 2005 the City became aware of a substantial building on Wright Road which was at risk of being demolished or moved. This building was originally constructed by the Baker family with recycled timber and stone from the Kellerberrin Hotel and the Mogumber bridge over a 20 year period. City Officers identified the building as having potential as a community building for the rapidly growing population. Beautifully restored “Honeyeater House” is perfect for weddings, engagement parties, family gatherings and other private functions. Refurbishment works included improved accessibility – widening door openings, a disability change room, raising the existing verandah, replacing existing ramps, construction of a new toilet block under the main roof, information and technology infrastructure additions and minor landscaping works.
