Household Hazardous Waste

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) is the unwanted products that were used in and around the home that are flammable, toxic, reactive or corrosive. If not disposed of correctly, HHW can pose serious environmental and health risks. There are places to safely dispose of household hazardous wastes such as chemicals, batteries, aerosols, e-waste boat flares, gas canisters, and paint. Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility

You can take your items to Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility with the following accepted FREE of charge.

• Hazardous Waste Disposal (gas bottles, paint, light globes, batteries, motor oil, smoke detectors and household chemicals)

• Whitegoods, e.g. fridges, freezers and washing machines

• Scrap metal

• Car batteries

• Paint

• Polystyrene

Recycling Hubs

Containers for Change

Drink containers currently make up to 44% of all litter in Western Australia, even though they are made from easily recyclable materials such as glass, plastic, aluminium and cardboard. Containers for Change is Western Australia’s container deposit scheme that encourages Western Australians to collect and return eligible containers to designated refund points to receive a 10c refund per item. Container for Change also provides an exciting fundraising opportunity for schools, local sports clubs, community groups, charities etc .
