Make a rates payment

Payment in full should be made by the due date of 6 September 2024.

Pay in two instalments - Half now and balance in January 2025

Ratepayers may choose to pay their rates over two instalments.

The cost for this option includes an administration fee of $9.50 and an interest charge calculated at 5.5% pa (calculated daily). Pensioners and seniors are exempt from these fees and charges.

Please note: payments that are not made by the due date will also attract a late payment interest charge of 7% pa (calculated daily).

The ratepayer forfeits the right to pay by the two instalment option if the whole first instalment is not paid by 6 September 2024.

Note the first instalment must include all arrears of rates and charges otherwise payment by instalment is not available.

Pay your rates in 4 instalments

Ratepayers may choose to pay their rates over the four instalment dates as below:

Ratepayers may also make special arrangements with the City to pay their rates:

A Smarter Way to Pay - Pay by yearly direct debit, from April to March (terms and conditions apply). Payments by direct debit can be made either weekly, fortnightly or monthly. No administration charge or penalty interest applies if terms and conditions are met. The ratepayer will incur a dishonour payment fee of $25.00 per dishonour.

Current and arrears (standard) (terms and conditions apply) Current and arrears payments can be made by direct debit on a Friday either weekly, fortnightly or monthly. An administration charge of $57.50 is applicable and a late payment interest rate of 7% pa (calculated daily).

Financial Hardship - If you are unable to pay your rates in full or according to the installment plans offered by the City, a Smarter Way to Pay direct debit arrangement can be set up. To discuss the details of a financial hardship application please contact our Rates Team on (08) 9394 5788.
