The City of Armadale offers schools the opportunity to participate in a battery collection program for the safe and environmentally responsible recycling of batteries. Batteries contain hazardous materials that can be harmful to the environment if sent to landfill, or cause fires in waste trucks and/or recycling facilities when placed in the kerbside collection bins. For your school to participate, please complete the registration form and Email to info@armadale.wa.gov.au
Your school will receive:
Two 4 litre pails that are “dangerous goods” (DG) approved
Education posters
Collection and storage guidelines
An email containing standard wording and images to promote battery recycling

The City of Armadale partners with Veolia Recycling & Recovery to provide a free waste education program to local schools. The interactive incursion is designed to help students understand the relationship between waste and the environment. WasteSorted Schools provides support for schools across Western Australia to promote responsible waste management behaviours, with a focus on waste avoidance and resource recovery. It also develops positive environmental values in students and the whole school community. WasteSorted Schools offer free services to teachers and schools.
