Management of Trees

By applying appropriate levels of resources and ‘best practice’ management, the City will endeavour to develop streetscapes and parks that provide attractive and healthy places

Street Trees

The City of Armadale is committed to the preservation of trees and consider them one of our most important assets.

Trees are an integral part of the City’s urban landscape contributing significantly to the landscape character and our local sense of place, and Council has approved significant budget allocations towards forward planning, planting and ongoing maintenance of street trees within the City.

  • Trees are potentially the largest and most significant element in the urban landscape and provide critical ecosystem services such as shade, habitat, filtration and carbon sequestration.

  • Trees also provide a connection to nature, a sense of local character, reduce heat related stress and can act as traffic or storm water control devices.

  • The use of appropriate trees benefit the entire community by maximising the environmental, psychological, economic and aesthetics that trees provide to the community, for now and in the future.

The City considers some inconvenience arising from street trees as a necessary consequence of living in an urban environment where trees deliver significant community benefit.
