The City’s Strategic Environment Commitment includes commitments in relation to Sustainability:
The City aspires to promote environmental sustainability in accordance with section 3.1(1A) of the Local Government Act 1995 (WA). This includes the need to plan for mitigating risks associated with climate change. Long term consequences and impacts to future generations will be considered as part of any decision-making processes.
In addition, the City will:
Utilise water efficiently as part of City operations
Minimise the City’s carbon footprint
These objectives are supported by strategic directions provided in the City of Armadale Strategic Community Plan and Corporate Business Plan.
The City supports the following sustainability initiatives:
The City of Armadale acknowledge the Traditional Owners and the Custodians of the land upon which we stand, work and play.
We acknowledge Aboriginal people as the First Peoples of this land and their connection to the lands and the waters, as they are part of them spiritually and culturally.
We acknowledge their ancestors, the Elders past and present, who have led the way for us to follow.
